This video was a total technical feat for our team to pull off, we knew the final outcome needed to be both exciting and also compelling in the way it showed off the gaming device and all of its features.
Packed with stunning visual effects, motion graphics, and immersive sound design, this piece captures the excitement of innovation and the spirit of gaming’s next frontier.
Special effects, practical props, and a whole lot of compositing
When we started this project, we knew we would need to strike the perfect balanace of special effects work and the utilization of practical props to ground our spacewoman and gaming device in a belivable sci-fi setting.
We spent hours researching and mocking up different costuming options that we could purchase and further cusomize to pull them together into a cohesive look. This included several rounds with our client to ensure that we captured their vision.
With the concept of our spacewoman being on a sci-fi chair on a track, we knew we would have to build something from scratch. Our team worked in a 3D modeling program to design this fictional future chair then built the whole thing from metal, wood, and 3D printed elements to make it look screen-ready.
We filmed both the gaming device and our spacewoman on a green screen for later compositing. To ensure that the lights of our fictional world were consistent on the machine and spacewoman, we programmed LEDs to flash at certain speeds and colors to simulate movement.
